LMX2615-SP: Termination of pins both used and unused.

Part Number: LMX2615-SP

Tool/software:

Part-1 (capacitance connection)

Can a common 10 uF capacitance be used for pins 25,41 and 57 (VCC Mash, VCCVCO2 and VCCVCO respectively),

or should they be individually terminated using 10uF capacitance each.

If a common capacitance is used what can be the consequences.

Part -2 (resistive termination)

Data sheet recommends termination of parallel pin control pins (3, 4, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20) by 1 Kohm resistance.

What is the use of this termination and why 1Kohm, can it be terminated by 1.8Kohm resistor.

  • Hi Arjun,

    1. Each pin requires an individual bypass capacitor to ground.

    2. These pins determine the operation mode of the device, they must be set to either High or Low state. You can directly tie them to Vcc or Ground. You can also tie them to the rails via a resistor, usually less than or equal to 10kΩ.
