LMX2595EVM: Start and end frequencies are different in automatic ramp

Part Number: LMX2595EVM

Tool/software:

Hi,

I am trying to generate an automatic ramp between 11 GHz and 11.25 GHz with a ramp rate of 10 MHz/µs.

The output of the EVM is connected to a power divider (insertion loss ~1 dB), and the two outputs of the power divider are connected to an E5052B signal source analyzer and an N9030A PXA. I have attached the GUI and ramp settings below. I had to enable the channel divider since the maximum frequency of the E5052B is 7 GHz. The PLL locks at 5.5 GHz without any issues.

1. I was hoping to see a frequency ramp between 5.5 GHz and 5.625 GHz with calibration at ~5.5625 GHz for 10 µs with a total ramp-up duration of 30 µs. But from the plots below, the frequency starts at 5.5 GHz, but stops at 5.53 GHz after a duration of 125 µs. Can you help me identify the errors in my setup?

I also see some tones at 5.25 GHz, 5.63 GHz, etc, as shown in the spectrum.

2. When I set the x-span to 20 ms, I see these breaks in the waveform and also some modulation. Are these expected?

Best Regards

Goutham
