LMK5B12204: TICS Pro - unable to get a 7.8125 MHz or 3.90625 MHz output

Part Number: LMK5B12204

Tool/software:

Hi,

One of my customers has the following "problem" with the LMK5B12204

Using TICS Pro, I am unable to get a 7.8125 MHz or 3.90625 MHz output. I have to make manual adjustments, but then the PLL does not lock. I would like to use APLL1 for a lower jitter value. I am using a 48 MHz crystal, a 125 MHz input reference, and the other outputs are 50 MHz and 25 MHz. Is there a way for me to get the outputs I mentioned?

Thank you and Best regards,

Cristian Ogararu

  • Hi Christian,

APLL1 cannot generate 7.8125 MHz or 3.90625 MHz since the channel divider is limited to 256, so the minimum output frequency is 2500MHz / 256 = 9.765625MHz. These frequencies will need to be generated on APLL2 since it has an additional post divider.

If you only need one of these frequencies, you could also use OUT7 since it has an extended divider range.

    Regards,

    Connor
