Hi,

I am planning to use 4 DAC3283 DACs for my Analog signal generation. I need to phase match all the 8 outputs of DAC (2 from 4 each), and planning to provide DAC Clock and OSTR (4 each) from single clock generator (Jitter cleaner) LMK04832. Is this setup okay? Since OSTR is not a clock type output I am worried how this will behave. Can you suggest how I can interface these.

Hi Athuljith,

This should be fine, and this use case is well suited for the LMK04832. The main thing of note is that I assume you want your DACs to be synchronized. This can be easily achieved by using the SYNC functionality of the LMK04832. You would simply need to trigger a single SYNC event, and the outputs will all share phase alignment (this depends on your R and N divider settings being appropriate, mainly that N / R = an integer).

Hi, our phase matching requirement is stringent (3 ps), that's why we are looking for all the options we have. And one more thing, what is the OSTR signal frequency recommended for the 800MHz DAC application.

DAC3283 datasheet has the following section for OSTR frequency:

The OSTR signal can be LVPECL based signal, same as the DACCLK.
