TPL5110: TPL5110

Part Number: TPL5110

Tool/software:

7026.Desired function waveform.pdf

Hello

Our company is designing a circuit intended for use in a portable very high-volume commercial application.  The circuit is powered by two AAA batteries.  Battery life, small physical size of the PCB and part availability are important factors.

To implement this product a circuit is required to generate the waveform in the attached pdf file.  I would very much appreciate your help.  The desired function corresponding to the attached waveform is as follows:

  1. Initial conditions: Output of timer TPL5110 is low.
  2. Input signal to timer circuit is initially low.
  3. Input signal to timer circuit goes high
  4. Within 10us or less, Output of timer go high for approximately 20 seconds, activating a tone device buzzer
  5. After 20 seconds, output of timer goes low shutting off tone device buzzer, for approximately 10 minutes
  6. If the input signal to circuit is still high after 10 minutes has gone by, tone device buzzer goes off for another 20 seconds.  This continues with tone device buzzer going off every 10 minutes until the input to the timer circuit goes low.  SEE ATTCHED WAVEFORM.

Thank you for your help

  • Hi Robert,

The TPL5110 alone cannot do what you wanted to do.

This device can generate a periodic clock with a period of 10 mins but the pulse width is not configurable.

you can use the enable signal as the VDD of the device, as long as the enable signal is able to source up to 400µA.

tIP is 10mins. The pulse width, however, is 50ms. Resistance reading time is up 120ms.

You may consider using multiple TPL devices and mux device to construct the clock that you want.
