my customer uses LMX2582 in different small cell base station projects, and some designs require switching the LMX2582's output frequency during operation. the customer want to confirm how to achieve the frequency switching in different situation.
According to the datasheet, the frequency switching procedure is as follows:
Scenario 1: The LMX2582's output frequency needs to be switched between 1664MHz and 1830MHz. Based on the relationship between the channel divider and the VCO frequency, a fixed divide-by-3 channel frequency can meet this requirement. Simulation tools show that VCO3 and VCO4 are used in this range, respectively. Is the frequency switching scheme in the datasheet correct? Are there any other modifications that need to be made?
Scenario 2: The LMX2582's output frequency needs to be switched between 3420MHz and 3570MHz. Based on the relationship between the channel divider and the VCO frequency, channels below 3550MHz require a divide-by-2 frequency, while channels above 3550MHz require a direct VCO output. What are your recommendations for implementing this scenario?
