CDC6C-Q1: Land pattern details

Part Number: CDC6C-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDC6C

Hi Team,

We are planning to use the CDC6Cx-Q1 part in our design.

While creating the land pattern for this component, we noticed two different examples. Could you please clarify the reason for having two land patterns? Specifically, what does the term "universal land pattern" signify, and which pattern should we follow for our design?

Below i attached Snap of it.

  • Hi Praven,

The land pattern on the left is a 1:1 with the CDC6C pin dimensions. The universal land pattern on the right is designed to be compatible with other oscillators on the market that may have slightly different dimensions compared to CDC6C. The intention is to give our customers flexibility with choosing CDC6C as a multisource option and  easily use it as a drop in replacement with other solutions. You can also read a bit more about how we created universal land patterns for our LMK6x family of oscillators here: https://www.ti.com/lit/an/snaa379a/snaa379a.pdf

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Connor
