CDCE925PERF-EVM: Driver wont install, cannot find board in clockpro software

Can you share the EVM jumper pins you have? 

I assume you're using Clock Pro to communicate with our part? 

Additionally can you follow this E2E thread to remove any driver concerns?

Hi, 

There are jumpers on the SDA and SCL, one near the USB in, USB 3v3 and 1v8. and 2 near the USB 1.8 outs.

as for how the device drivers, that guide says it should appear in device manager as "TI CDCE ..." however when i plug the board in i get 2 USB comports

I'll look into this issue on bench, I have ordered an EVM and I waiting for it to arrive. I should be able to look into the driver issue once the EVM arrives.

In the mean time your EVM connections look good to me, would you be able to try and uninstall and reinstall CLOCKPRO and test if you still face this issue?

I did the re-install of clockpro, i did notice at some point it installed some FTDI drivers so the other drivers i was trying to install maybe aren't necessary? The driver i was trying to install was the one on the EVM page.

however inside clockpro the board doesn't show up, after clicking the find boards button the select boards remains blank.

I was doing some investigation on this driver issue. On the Device Manager you should see the part show up as "TI CDCE(L)9xx ...." not "USB Serial Port" which leads me to believe that there is something going on with the drivers that are not recognizing the part as mentioned earlier. 

Allow me some time to receive the EVM and in the mean time i'll keep you updated on any solution i might find ahead of the EVM arrival.

I have been trying to manually force the drivers to what is on the TI site in the downloads but windows refuses to allow this. I am really at a loss with how to get this working.

Yes using windows 11. maybe i should try windows 10 or 7 in a virtual machine. maybe that will work.

I'll be able to confirm if its an OS issue once i get the EVM, but im starting to suspect it based on my investigation so far.

on windows 7 i still cant get the board recognised in the software and it appears as 2 USB com ports again

I just received the EVM today and  i will be conducting the investigation this week.

I did some more digging on the previous threads and saw that there may be a work around on the Win 10 and Win  7 devices by following the steps highlighted in the below thread.

Hi Sandra,

I had decided to stop trying to get the software to work and instead i am going to manually program the device through the SDA and SCL pins from an arduino.

I used the software to configure the device and then saved a hex file. 

This should be good enough for me to test the device out. 

I would be interested if you can get it working but i have spent to much time on it now and need to start testing.
