CDCLVP1102: Consultation on LEPECL Interface Design

Dear TI Engineer,

We are using the CDCLVP1102 to convert a 3.3 V, 10 MHz clock signal into an LVPECL signal, which is then fed into a clock device.

In the application report SCAA056, the calculation methods for the termination resistors are different for LVPECL DC coupling and AC coupling.

For DC coupling, as shown in Figure 1, the calculation is based on VCC − 2 V.
For AC coupling, as shown in Figure 2, the calculation is based on VCC − 1.3 V.

Could you please help us confirm why the AC-coupling calculation is based on VCC − 1.3 V?
