BQ32000: Utilizing the backup supply

Hello,

 

In the BQ3200 datasheet, there is this paragraph :

Is it possible do have more information, specially, in the case of the use of an supercapacitor for the Baskup supply ?

    Hi There,

    After installing the supercap or backup battery, provide Vcc to the BQ32000 device for at least 1ms, then remove the Vcc supply.

    When Vcc is applied to the BQ32000 device, the device will automatically switch to use the supply from Vcc. After removing the Vcc supply, the device will switch to use backup supply at the current as specified in the Electrical Characteristics section. In short, a switchover is required in order to get the correct current consumption.
