LMK04832EVM: Technical Assistance Request (so#521744)

Part Number: LMK04832EVM

Hi Tech,

PN#LMK04832EVM

1pcs from PO#029-FY977 with D/C 2545 & Lot Code 5021665SVT

Our customer has encountered an issue during operation: out of its14 channels, 6 channels are producing no signal output, and 2 channels support only LVDS output while failing to support LVPECL output.

This screenshot shows Channel 5. It is supposed to provide an LVDS output with a peak-to-peak voltage (Vpp) of 400 mV. The yellow trace displays the signal output at the SMA connector after AC coupling, while the blue trace shows the direct output from the chip itself—probed prior to the AC coupling stage. The signal consists solely of a 3.3 V DC component, with no discernible 40 MHz AC output.

Could you please help me identify the cause of this issue? Thank you.

  • Hi There,

if you were using the EVM default configuration in TICS Pro, CLKout5 is powered down.

Even if you enable the output, you should config it as CML output because the EVM has the output pins 50Ω pull-up to Vcc.

You can get LVDS output from CLKout8 and CLKout9, after enabling the output in TICS Pro.
