LMX2572: LMX2572, FSK modulation input data rate supported?

Hi,

In our design we want to use LMX2572 for generating 2-FSK modulated waveform, I have queries about input data rate supported and Timing details.

  1. Input data rate is 250kbps and also 500kbps, does this IC supports FSK Modulation at this frequency and carrier frequency is 1.4GHz?  Because of PLL settling time, Loop bandwidth limitations
    1. Bit duration is 4uS, and PLL Settling time is nearlu 20 µs to 500 µs
  2. If it supports which mode do we need to configure the IC Standard PLL Settling (Frequency Hopping) or Direct Digital FSK Modulation (Data Transmission)?
  3. For providing FSK modulation data, any Pins are supported in hardware or is it only through programming SPI registers?

    Yes, 500kbps is supported but PLL loop bandwidth has to be as wide as possible to minimize modulation distortion.

    In LMX2572, FSK data is written to the device via SPI interface. In LMX2572-LP, FSK data can also be be written via I2S interface.
