LMK04714-Q1: PLL1 Bypass

Hi Team, 

We have a question regarding the LMK04714.
We want to connect via CLKin0 (10MHz) and use PLL2 only (Single PLL for 2500MHz), and we have some lack of clarity on this matter.
 
According to Figure 8-1 on page 22 of the datasheet, it appears that there is no option for CLKin0 to reach PLL2 directly and generate a high frequency there for distribution purposes.
 
According to page 41, section 8.4.2, Figure 8-13 or 8-14, it is possible to input CLKINx, where it is not specified that x cannot be 0 — so it seems this is indeed possible.
 
I tried in TICS PRO without an EVB card to do this, and it appears that it is possible (attached is a screenshot I took on my SA computer).
 
I would appreciate it if you could clarify for us what the correct answer is on this matter.
  • LMK04714-Q1 can route CLKin0 (or CLKin1, or CLKin2) to PLL2 via PLL2_RCLK_MUX field. This is an intended use case for the device. The diagrams in the LMK04714-Q1 datasheet are not correct. I have a revised version in the queue for publication at some point in the near future.
