CDCE62005 GUI problems?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE62005

Hi,

At First I'm having a problems when using JAVA version of CDCE62005 control GUI, and I'm having problems with it. Seems that sometimes check boxes won't get locked and on a SPI Debug menu I can't change value of Register 8. Also when I load values from a file in a SPI Debug menu, they won't get updated on Register [0-8] text boxes. Also when I load my old settings from a file, and open e.g. Input divider settings box to see what value was there and click OK and save, then my settings.ini keep changing, even I didn't change anything on a design. According to this http://e2e.ti.com/support/clocks/b/clocksblog/archive/2010/08/18/what-if-the-cdce62005-excel-loop-filter-calculator-causes-me-trouble.aspx post, there is supposed to be an old Excel version of this tool. Is it still available somewhere?

  • Okey, found solution for this by installing newer version of the GUI http://e2e.ti.com/support/clocks/m/videos__files/353682.aspx.

Btw, is there any way to simulate functionality and settings of the CDCE62005 without EVM board? Because I'm having problems with PLL being unlocked on one of my boards. I can dig out register values those it is supposed to work via SPI, but I wonder is there a possibility to know do they actually work and see why PLL isn't getting locked.

  • Hmm, I was wondering does this version 1.4.5 actually works? Because when I tried to load it with default setup that can be found from CDCE62005 Manual page 23. I can't get outputs those are mentioned there? So is there newer version of the GUI coming or is the old excel tool still available?

  • Hi Johnny,

I guess you connected the EVM and you find out that the GUI was not showing the default value. You can try the command "Read ALL SPI register" which you can find under Tools/SPI Debug. The default values should pop-up on the GUI.

    Best regards,

    Leandro
