CDCM61002: Connecting VCC_IN to Analog power group(VCC_PLL)

Greetings,

hope some can comment:  im seeing in EVM816x rev G schematic showing the CDCM61002 VCC_IN connected to the Analog power group(VCC_PLL) while Datasheet is recommending VCC_IN connected with VCC_OUT instead.  Can anyone comment on this?

    Hi WT,

    in the CDCM61002 datasheet we mentioned that VCC_IN and VCC_OUT can be shorted together. This is also reflected on the CDCM6100x EVM.

    The EVM816x EVM has different connection pehaps because they want to ensure that the PLL and the inpust stage run out exactly the same voltage and they are aware that the output supply voltage could get affected by switching noise from other digital circuitry on the board. For system like the one on the DSP EVM, I would  reccomend to keep VCC_IN and VCC_OUT separated and eventully connect VCC_IN to VCC_PLLx.
