LMK00105 with sine input

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK00105

Can the LMK00105 operate on a 0.9Vpp sine wave clock input?

Based on some research, it appears that it should work in an AC coupled configuration, based on the 0.15V VID and Vdd/2 internal biasing of the CLKin pin, but I would like some confirmation.

  • Yes, LMK00105 is functional with sinewave input (AC or DC coupled).  Note that additive jitter/noise performance is a function of input slew rate, which is related to the sine wave frequency and amplitude.  Refer to the typical characteristics data for additive jitter and noise floor vs. input slew rate.
