Hi,

I am trying to evaluate the CDCE62005 and am not able to get my PC to recognize the device. I followed the procedure in the EVM guidelines and every time I go to install the driver for the EVM (which the guide says is in the install directory) I get a message saying the driver cannot be found. On the EVM the only LED that lights up when I plug the USB in is D26.

I have tried multiple EVMs, installing on a different computer, reinstalling the software, and updating java.

I am currently using a laptop with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.

I would appreciate some direction in debugging this issue.

I found another post that had updated drivers for Windows 7 64-bit systems and tried using the driver with no luck.

Hi Geovid,

if you plug in the USB cable to both PC and EVM, what do you see in the Windows Device Manager? (press windows key + Pause key and open Device Manager at the left hand side of the window)

Not sure where the pause key is but the device manager says "Uknown Device". See picture below:

*** Found the answer***

Turns out the EVM software is not compatible with win7-64bit so you need to download an emulator and virtual box

What you will do is install from Microsoft a Windows XP emulator (~500 Meg download) and another Virtual Box software, then you can run Window XP mode in a window (or go full screen)
- Please find attach document discuss installing the emulator (from ALP software group).
- CodeLoader must be installed on the equivalent of a fresh WinXP system.
- After installing CodeLoader on WinXP virtual machine and plugging in USB2UWIRE-IFACE board, then you must attach to the USB2UWIRE-IFACE board... then the normal driver install process will occur.
