interfacing rakon tcxo with CDCLVC1104

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCLVC1104, LMK00105

5153.IT2200K.pdfDear Sir,

I am using rakon IT2200K( datasheet is attached) seriesTCXO in my application and I want to interface output of TCXO with CDCLVC1104 and generate 4 clock outputs.but o/p of TCXO is clipped sine wave of 0.8 v p-p.

Please give your suggestion.

Thank you in advance.

  • When operating the CDCLVC1104 at 2.5V, you can make it work. All you need to do is AC couple the TCXO output and then bias after the AC cap to Vcc/2 (1.25V).

  • The oscillator spec has 0.8V output swing min, but this only applies at 25C only.  It could be lower over Temp, which means it could violate the VIH min and/or VIL max spec of the CDCLVC part.  There is also supply variation to consider for the input bias voltage of Vcc/2, which could also affect the ability to meet the VIH/VIL specs.

Another part to consider is LMK00105, which supports lower single ended input swing on CLKIN or OSCIN inputs.

    Regards,

    Alan
