Clock source for TSW1400EVM, ADS4249EVM & DAC34SH84EVM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE62005EVM, ADS4249EVM, CDCE72010, CDCE62005, DAC34SH84, ADS4249

Hello,

We recently purchased a TSW1400EVM, DAC34SH84EVM and an ADS4249EVM. The TSW and DAC are working quite well with the on-board clock solutions, but the ADS requires an external 250 MHz clock which we do not have available. We are considering purchasing a CDCE62005EVM for generating a 250 MHz clock to drive the ADS, as well as the TSW and DAC for synchronization purposes.

I looked through datasheets and EVM guides for the CDCE62005 and the CDCE72010, and it seems to me the CDCE62005EVM should be able to do it due to the 30.72 MHz crystal on the EVM connected to the primary input, together with the integrated VCOs to scale it up by a factor of 8 (similar to the DAC clocking on the DAC34SH84EVM).

I have two questions that I hope you can help me with:

- Can you confirm the CDCE62005EVM can be used as a stand-alone clock source at about 250 MHz?

- If yes, will a 250 MHz clock from the EVM be of good enough quality to be used for the ADS4249EVM, TSW1400 and DAC34SH84EVM? We're not looking for performance up to datasheet specs, it just has to work.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Kind regards,

Daaf
