CDCE925 with LVCMOS-clock

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE925

Hi,

i would like to use a CDCE925 together with an LVCMOS clock with 30MHZ/1.8V on Pin16:Xin (Pin16:XOut left unconnected).

According the cdce925.pdf documentation chapter "DEFAULT DEVICE SETTING" with S0="1"
all outputs will deliver the same clock as on Xin.
The "DEFAULT DEVICE SETTING" Figure 6 shows a crystal -
does it matter if an LVCMOS clock is used instead?

Best regards,

Roland

  • You need to program the device registers to configure the input for LVCMOS clock mode.  The Xtal input mode was not characterized for operation with LVCMOS input, as cannot be assured over the specified operating range.
