TPL5000 WATCHDOG TIMER - Device supply needs to be decoupled not just bypassed

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPL5000

Has anyone any experience with the TPL5000 low power watchdog timer?

I've been evaluating this device, it is certainly a very low power device as claimed BUT I've found that the power supply needs to be fully decoupled (large resistor and large capacitor) as opposed to the recommended simple bypassing using a 100N capacitor across the supply. Without full decoupling the device does not respond to watchdog reset pulses on its "done" pin and therefore keeps resetting my processor even though the processor is fine..... oh dear!

The supply noise that is upsetting this device isn't large although it is being powered from the output of a switch mode supply.

Although decoupling does seems to sort this out I am concerned that the device may be generally a 'weak' design, anyone care to comment?
