Cannot connect to USB2ANY

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CODELOADER, USB2ANY, LMX2571

I just received the LMX2571 Eval board and USB2ANY.  I downloaded the current version of CodeLoader and installed it.  The first time I plugged in the USB2ANY it wanted to update firmware.  I acknowledged and it tried to download, but stated it failed after a few minutes.  I repeated the process and it again asked to update firmware.  I again agreed and it started and then stopped.  I waited about 15 minutes after Windows XP showed that Codeloader was not responding and forced quit.

When I launch CodeLoader it seems to run on XP, but there is no indication that it is talking to the USB2ANY box.  The "USB" radio button is grey and the "Identify" button is grey as well.  I've also installed CodeLoader on a Windows 7 machine.  Again, CodeLoader appears to run, but will not talk to the USB2ANY.

My guess is that firmware did not successfully update, but this is only a guess.

HELP!!!!  How can I get this USB2ANY to function?

Thanks.

  • Hi Steve,

On the USB2ANY there is a small pin hole - can you try the following steps? make sure you start with the USB2ANY unplugged and CodeLoader turned off
    1) start up code loader
    2) use a small pin or similar to press the button hidden inside the pinhole - while this is depressed, connect the USB2ANY to the USB cable
    3) follow the on screen prompts

Let us know if this resolves your issue!

  • Hi Gabe,

We tried this process several times with no success yesterday and I just tried twice again now. When the USB2 ANY first arrived, we did get the on-screen prompts, but the on-screen window stated it failed to load. On a second attempt using the 3 steps you've listed, the on-screen prompts again tried to upload firmware, but hung (after 15 minutes of Windows reporting "not responding" I force quit. Now I launch CodeLoader, hold a paperclip in to depress the button, and plug in the USB cable. CodeLoader doesn't respond or change in any observable way.

It there a way to reset the USB2ANY so that CodeLoader will attempt to update firmware or another way to reset?

    Thanks.

  • Mr. Gabe

We have same issue. what is the solution for this problem

    thanks

  • I'm running into the same problem. Got a USB2ANY with LMX2571 dev board, but CodeLoader4 does not update it (and hence does not communicate with it).
It also mentions "u2aOpen Error: -6" once I close the Firmware loader window.
  • Hi Gabe,

I cannot send an email at the address you provided.(g-ayala@ti.com)

    Is there anything wrong?

    Thanks!
