CDCLVD1216 / about LVDS Output AC Termination with Receiver Internally Biased (FIgure14)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCLVD1216

Hi,

Would you please advise where 100ohm termination should be placed for CDCLVD1216 LVDS output ?

As the datasheet Figure14 says, should the termination be placed between ac-coupled capacitance and LVDS device ? or could be placed between CDCLVD1216 and the capacitance as shown in the figure below?

●CDCLVD1216

●SiTime for differential drivers

  • Hi Kato-San,

Either way is fine (100 ohm termination on the driver side of the AC coupling capacitor or receiver side of the AC coupling capacitor) as long as it is physically close to the receiver. The 100 ohms is used to match the transmission line differential impedance at the receiver to prevent any reflections. Both AC coupled termination schemes assume the receiver is biased internally.
