Zero delay clock multiplier with 2.5V, single end input/output

Hello Team,

Our customer is looking for a zero delay clock multiplier which could be used with 2.5V. Is there a 2.5V version device of CDCVF25081 ?

I could find some zero delay clock multiplier such like CDC857, CDCV850 and CDCVF855/857. Could these be used with single end input/output application ?

Please let us know if there is a recommendation.

  • Hi Kawai-San,

I dont see a simple solution to meet your needs based on a quick search of our portfolio. One potential candidate device for this application, with some modifications is CDCE62002.

This device can support 3.3V LVCMOS on the output. A simple resistor divider network can scale the single-ended output to 2.5V. Zero delay function can be achieved per the workaround suggested in the application note.

As far as the input on REF_IN is concerned, the customer can simply AC couple with 0.1uF capacitor and DC bias (using 10K resistors) the input signal to 1.65V before feeding into REF_IN. This should ensure sufficient swing to meet the VIL/VIH requirements of 0.3Vcc - 0.7Vcc

Please note that is an undocumented/unverified proposal. There might be better options that someone else on the team could perhaps suggest.CDCE62002_as_zero_delay_buffer_rev0p9.pdf
