CDCM7005-SP

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM7005

Hi,

I have couple of questions:

1. Since most of standard VCXO are 491.52Mhz, can you create 160Mhz output from this device by have a 491.52Mhz VCXO and adjusting the delay and various parameters or does the VCXO have to be 160Mhz?

2. If the answer is no, and my reference clock is 10Mhz, does the VCXO needs to slightly below od above the 160MHz to get a good lock or 160.000Mhz would work?

3. If at the power up the reference clock is not present what happens to the CDCM7005 outputs?

Thanks

  • Hi Kamdin,

to 1. This is not possible, VCXO has to be 160MHz or multiple of required frequency. The CDCM7005 has integer divider only.
to 2. 160MHz will work. Your VCXO will be adjusted in the available tuning range to get a good lock.
to 3. If no Ref clock is present you see at the output the free running VCXO signal with the defined divider.

    Regards,
