CDCM6208 not working

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCM6208

i have solded the CDCM6208 on a adapter and i am trying to make it work.

First made my configuration on the CDCM6208 model:

Then i had this Register settings:

Than i program it with the MSP432 via SPI and i could write it and read it back. The register values read back are the same that have been written.

Here is my schematic:

I measure all outputs and i didnt get any signal.

Any idea?

  • Hi Michael,

Have you tried executing a Calibrate command? I will work on verifying your register settings (they should be OK as they were generated by the GUI) - can you send me the save file from the GUI?

I will also review your schematics.

  • Hi Gabe,

i read the IC version from the Register and it came out it was V2 instead of V1, altought i have bought it with  V1.

Anyway i generate a new CDCM6208 file and replace the old register values with the new ones, but i still dont get any output signals.

    Here are my settings:

I have clicked the Calibrate and the Sync buttons at the bottom from the Clock CDCM6208 Software but i have still no output signal.

    Thank you,

    Michael

  • Hello Michael,
can you confirm that your startup sequence is according to the data sheet? Please refer to figure 35. Are all the outputs not toggling at all or do you get a free running VCO (frequency offset)?
You can observe the detected input signal using the output muxes of Y4 and Y5 to observe a bypass path of the inputs.

Looking at table 5 I think that you might have to change register 4 to 0x30B7.

    Best regards,
    Patrick
