LMX2581 + external EEPROM

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2581

Hello,

I'm interested on this component LMX2581 (for future system product) but the problem is that there is no memory like EEPROM inside.

I just need to program the external memory so that at a power-on the PLL will be programmed.

If you have a solution for this I'm interested on it (a technical notice would be fine).

I also need a simple solution (more compact) to optimise the dimension.

Thanks for your replay

  • Lahatra,
Indeed the LMX2581 does not have EEPROM and you do need to program it every time power is applied.

We do have some devices in our clocking group with the CDC prefix and we also have some fixed oscillators in the LMK06100 family. I'm not too familiar with these products.

WIth the LMX2581 and all these other products, the best solution is a low cost microcontroller. The idea is that when power is applied, the microcontroller wakes up, sends the programming, and then powers back down. I did this about 20 years ago with one of LMX2325 products and a COP8 microprocessor from National Seminconductor. I'm sure that technology has improved since then.
