LMX2581E: frequency range dependency

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2581E

Hello,

The LMX2581E has 4 VCOs core frequency to program in the PLL depending on the application.

Unfortunately we do not see a curve of the dependence between the frequency range and the voltage controlled of the VCO in the datasheet of LMX2581E.

Do you have some more information for this topic?

Thanks and best regards
Martin

  • Martin,

It is likely more complicated than you think.  For instance, VCO 1 typically tunes 1800 to 2270 MHz, but, this is broken into 256 different bands, each of these might be on the order of 10-30 MHz wide.  So you can not say that 2100 MHz will have a higher (or lower as the Kvco is negative for this device) than 1900 MHz since there is a different band.

We do give KVCO numbers in the datasheet which assume you are in the same band so that you can model and design your loop filter.

    Regards,
