HI,
One of my customers is asking what the precise leadframe finish is.
The product page quality & packaging tab gives only CU-SN.
Does this means a copper lead frame with tin finish?
Can you indicate what type of tin is used then?

Here’s where you can get the information:
You can get there by going to TI.com -> support & training -> choose packaging -> click material content search -> search and select your device.

Based on the material content search, the leadframe is Copper and Alloy, and the leadframe plating is Tin (CAS No. 7440-31-5).
I'm checking with our product engineering group if they have more info on the type of tin, but does the CAS No. help?
Alan
The only other info I could find out:
The lead frame is mostly Cu (~8mils=200um) with a Sn layer around 12um outside Cu.
What more is there to know/find out about Sn?
Alan,
thanks a lot for the answers and digging deeper into this!
I think we have enough information for now.
Summarised:
* Lead frame: Copper and Alloy. Mostly Cu (~8mils=200um)
* Lead frame plating: Matte Sn (CAS No. 7440-31-5) as a ~12-um layer outside Cu
Best Regards
Martin
