bq32000 trickle charge current

Hi Expert,

When I turn on TCHE[3:0] and TCH2. The Vcc is 3.3V, the Vback connected a super Cap 220mF.

When I turn on and off the TCFE,what's the charging current  range? Thanks!

  • Hi Jerry,

The current charging range will depend on Vcc and the initial Vback voltage.

    A quick approximation is:

    (Vcc - Vback - Vfdiode) / (940 + 180) if TCFE = 0 or

    (Vcc - Vback ) / (20k + 180) if TCFE = 1

As the voltage of Vback increases the charging current is reduced. For this approximation, you can use 0.6V for Vfdiode.
