LMK04906 LVCMOS output polarity

Hi,

I have a question about LMK04906 clock output format.

I need five 80MHz LVCMOS output and four 26+2/3MHz LVCMOS output, total 9 LVCMOS outputs.
Also I want all LVCMOS outputs to be same polarity, so that I guess appropriate format is LVCMOS(Norm/Norm).

In LMK04906 datasheet page.111 "9.4.1 LVCMOS Complementary vs Non-Complementary Operation",
it said as follow:
*************************************************************************
A non-complimentary format such as LVCMOS (Norm/Norm) is not recommended
as increased switching noise is present.
*************************************************************************

Does this mean that I should not select LVCMOS(Norm/Norm) and
same polarity of 9 LVCMOS output are not available for LMK04906?

Are there any method to realize 9 LVCMOS output with same polarity?

best regards,
g.f.

  • Hi g.f,

LVCMOS (norm/norm) configuration is allowed. The datasheet simply cautions users that there will be increased noise on the supply lines when the polarity of both channels of the output pair is configured to be similar in LVCMOS mode. If noise coupling is a concern, this configuration may be avoided. Nevertheless, it is permitted.
