Hi,

Can you please elaborate more about function of MASH_DITHER?
I cannot see much information in the datasheet.


It's appreciated if you can share the typical use case and/or when this should be used.

    Hi Ken,

    Dithering is used only in fractional mode. For example, if the fraction is 0.1. You could put NUM/DEN = 1/10. Then spurs would be expected to appear at fpd/10 and fpd/10/k where k = 2, 3 or 6 (see datasheet section 8.1.1.1 for details). Enable dithering will randomize the fractional engine and as a result, the spurs energy will be distributed across the spectrum. That is, spurs go down but phase noise gets higher.
