my customer is using 2 SATA channels (6Gbps), each channel has 2 DS64BR111, one close to Transmitter board and another close to the receiver board.
He has selected for the AC coupling 220nF capacitance. The devices have been configured in slow OOB. One channel works very well, while the other one with the same schematic does not.
From the scope the deisgner has seen that the first bit of the SATA protocol is not sent.
Could the different layout between the 2 channles and the high capacitance for the AC couplig increase the charging time of the caps ?
any hint ?
