My customer have a question about LMK03318.

How does it work when abnormality occurs in ROM or EEPROM using hard/soft pin mode ?
Are those health checks possible ?

Hello Katsunaga-san,
the ROM is hardwired inside the silicon. Defects are very unlikely. It is possible to use I2C when the configuration was loaded from ROM. Therefore a system controller can read back all registers and cross-check against a kept reference file and the ROM content can still be verified.
The EEPROM comes with an integrated CRC calculation. A stored check-sum and a live one (calculated when loading from EEPROM into the registers) is verified and an error flag set.
Please refer to the data sheet and search for "NVMCRCERR", "NVMLCRC" and "NVMSCRC".
The EVM softwares Codeloader and TICS Pro can show this check-sum to you on the "EEPROM tab".
