Question for configure LMK03328/LMK03318 through CodeLoader and TICS Software

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK03328, LMK03318, CODELOADER, USB2ANY, LMK03328EVM

I plan to use LMK03318 and LMK03328 inside my design project,

I found two software in TI WebSite used for this IC configuration through USB Port.

www.ti.com/.../toolssoftware

(1) CodeLoader Software for Device Register Programming

(2) Texas Instruments Clocks and Synthesizers (TICS) Pro Software

Question 1 : What is difference between this two software? or just need use TICS for LMK033X8 is enough?

--

When I open CodeLoader Software and choose "Select Device",

I can't find LMK03318 and LMK03328,

I think "LMK03318.ini" and "LMK03328.ini" are needed for Code Loader Software,

We should put this file in path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments\CodeLoader 4"

Question 2 : Where can I download "LMK03318.ini" and "LMK03328.ini" for CodeLoader Software?

--

When I open TICS Software and choose "Select Device",

I can't find LMK03318,

I think "Select Device" --> "Import User Device" can inport "LMK03318.zip"

Question 3 : Where can I download "LMK03318.zip" for TICS Software?

--

Question 4: Where Can I buy USB2ANY (or related module) which is used for CodeLoader and TICS software to control this clock IC?

--

Thank You

Mr. Leong

  • Hello Mr. Leong,
let me try to answer your questions:
TICS Pro is the newer version of the multi-device programming software. All new developments and devices will be integrated here for all clocking devices. Moreover we plan to integrate other clocking devices which currently have their own dedicated software kits into TICS Pro.
Codeloader supports only clock devices using a LMK or LMX prefix in the device name.

Currently LMK03318 is only released in Codeloader.
LMK03328 is released both for Codeloader and in TICS Pro.

In Codeloader you will find the devices in "Select Device"-->"Clock Conditioners". You will have to scroll down to the very bottom of the list. On a low resolution screen there may be a small scroll down button where you can hover the mouse to scroll down.

In TICS Pro the LMK03328 is under "Select Device"-->"Clock generator / Jitter Cleaner (Dual Loop)".

The "import user device" mechanism is meant for debugging purposes in case a TI contact would send you a customized test version. These device profiles are separate from the ones delivered with the software.

Please let me know if that helped.

    Best regards,
    Patrick
  • Dear Patrick,

Thank you for your help. I can find LMK03328 in CodeLoader,

Now I need USB2ANY to control LMK03328 and I know TI does not sell USB2ANY.

One way is buy LMK03328EVM and jump I2C wire to control LMK03328 which inside my designed PCB.

Another way is buy USB2ANY Kit (HPA665-001) or it's same module.

So, where can I buy this kit or module?
