LMK03318 I2C communication at default register setting of Soft Pin Mode.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMK03318

Hi,

My customer is using LMK03318.
He has a issue about I2C communication at default register setting of Soft Pin Mode.
He tried two case setting of below for default register setting.

Case 1 : GPIO 3/2 = MID/MID
Case 2 : GPIO 3/2 = floating/floating

In case of 1, LMK03318 could not communicate with MCU by I2C
In case of 2, LMK03318 could communicate with MCU by I2C

I think that these two setting is same for default register setting.
Does LMK03318 have two mode GPIO level at default setting?
This two mode means that whether LMK03318 can communicate with MCU by I2C, or not.

Best regards,
Shimizu

  • Hi Shimizu,

To guarantee proper operation, GPIO3/2 should be biased externally as there are no internal pullup/pulldown resistors.

On that note, I don't think that is the problem. Any time the device is powered up you should be able to communicate with it over I2C. I would double check the I2C bus configuration (including addresses) and make sure the device is powered properly.
