Hi team,

Customer feeds back that our CDCLVP1204 output swing is a bit low, only 1.2Vpp. This's a bit low in their application.

Could you tell why we have limitation on our LVPECL output?

Normal LVPECL output is ~1.6Vpp.

Hello Luke,

I'll have to see why the typical output swing is < ~1.6 Vpp. However the datasheet spec reports 1.15 Vpp diff for 125 MHz, 312.5 MHz. The plots on fig 3 and fig 4 suggest the same.

How has the customer terminated? At what frequency are they operating?

Has the customer already designed, or are they still looking for a part? The LMK00304 has higher LVPECL output levels.

Customer has already put it on board. And their test result matches our datasheet. They're just asking why this chip seems have lower output compared with our other products.

Hello Luke,

I checked up on this. There is no official LVPECL standard these drivers were done to minimize power consumption. That's why the swing is lower.
