BQ4822Y

Hi,

I updated an older design with the BQ4822Y because of part obsolescence. The way the Real Time Clock is used in our system is as both a RTC and a timer in which the timer needs the 10ms resolution that this part provides. We have observed some odd behavior in the part in that the tenth and hundredth place does not update on a consistent basis. It seems to periodically hold the value and then “jump” to catch up. It does this quite frequently, on the order of a number of times per second. Consequently, we are having problems using this part as a timer and it is breaking our timing based checks. Any suggestions on how to make this part behave?
