LMK03318: About I2C setting (with DS100BR410 I2C)

Part Number: LMK03318
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS100BR410

Please let me know about I2C setting of LMK03318 below.

①I2C speed setting

I2C bus speed is differ from LMK03318(10k~100k) and DS100BR410 (100k~400k).

If which one device is out of I2C speed spec, is there any problem? (For example, 150kHz, 50kHz, etc)

※For customer reason, each I2C can't set 100kHz bus speed.

②Power up sequence

About datasheet page-126, Figure 82 is described "Enable output Clear R12.6, R56.1".

Is is necessary to configure Enable from I2C?

(GPIO[3:2] is floating, internal EEPROM is bypassed)

Best regards,

Satoshi

  • 1. I can't comment on DS100BR410, but LMK03318 should be able to handle slower bus frequency down to 10 kHz range.

    2. No, it is not necessary to enable from I2C when GPIO[3:2] are floating (hardware register default mode when HW_SW_CTRL=low).  The default register settings should allow the outputs to be enabled as long as the PLL can be locked to the input clock.
