LMX2592: Lock time and Phase Noise

Part Number: LMX2592

Hi,

On Figure 30 of LMX2592 's datasheet, you obtain a total lock time of 35 µs. I can simulate the Analog Setting Time with your tool PLLatinum Sim, but not the right frequency and amplitude calibration time because i don't have a LMX evaluation board for now.

Such a performance is reached thanks to this, referring to the datasheet : "The 20-μs range lock time can be achieved if the amplitude comparator delay is low, set by register ACAL_CMP_DLY (5 in this example). If this is too low there is not enough time to make the decision of VCO amplitude to use and may result in non-optimal phase noise."

My question is, for these performances, with an adapted loop filter, what phase noise did you obtained, for example, for a 100kHz offset?

Thanks,

Kevin
