TLC555: Temperature characteristic

Hi all,

My customer want to know the temperature characteristic of TLC555I.

He said, " ie. Vdd=15V,   25deg.C  min 9.45V, max 10.55V -> delta is 1.1V     Full range min. 9.35V, max. 10.65V -> detta is 1.3V.

  and then (1.3V-1.1V) / 15V /(-40deg.C-85deg.C) = 0.2V/15V/125deg.C = 106.7 ppm/deg.C.

But I do not think so.

Some Temperature compensation inside, so that no trend of monotonically increasing.

In case, some show min.value at even 0 deg.C.

I have to explain to the customer, so it is important, that Temperature compensation exists  inside IC or not.

    The threshold voltage is simply 2/3 of VCC limited only by random matching error of the three internal resistors (actually made from high L/W PMOS transistors) plus the input offset voltage error of the comparator which is only a few millivolts.

    There is no temperature compensation other than the fact that identical components naturally match well.

    If I wanted to estimate min for 0C on 'I' version then I would interpolate

    9.45 - (25C - 0C) /(25C - -40C) * (9.45-9.35) = 9.41 V

    My customer understood, and decided to use TLC555I for their products.

    Its volume is very small but it is replacement of discontinued Renesas timer.

    I could not hear the name of Renesas products.
