LMK03328: Two different input switching

Guru 11170 points
Part Number: LMK03328

Hi,

Please let me know about LMK03328.

Premise;
 - This case has two input reference frequency, 27MHz and 148.5MHz.
 - 8-ch outputs are 297-MHz.
 - The user selects the best input for the synchronization data.

Problem;
 - Outputs are constant 297MHz.
 - EEPROM can hold only one register pattern.

Countermeasure;
 - Host owns the other register pattern, chek the synchronization data, If necessary modify register pattern.

My idea is correct?

Regards,
ACGUY

  • Hi,

    Yes, you can re-program the registers based on a loss of PRIREF or SECREF signal on the STATUS outputs. Note that the outputs may glitch since the PLL will take some time to re-lock.

    Also, if the host is able to control the PDN and GPIO[2:3] pins, you can program the two configurations to different EEPROM pages. Then, when the PLL lock is lost, the host can switch the EEPROM page selected on the GPIO pins and power cycle the device to load a different EEPROM page.
