LMK04828: Spurious on CLKOUT signal when using two LMK04828s

Part Number: LMK04828

Hi all,

When using two LMK04828s with same configurations, there is a spurious on CLKout signal.
Two ICs are arranged adjacently.
When changing the frequency of either VCO, the spurs are disappeared.

Could you tell me the causes of spurs and how to solve this problem?

Regards,
Toshi

  • Hi Toshi,
It could be caused by crosstalk between VCO frequency through coupling.
One method is to change one VCO far away from another one; Another method is to isolate 2 clock chips by layout (distance, individual LDO, shielding case etc.).

    Best Regards,
