LMX2492EVM: 251219-01

Part Number: LMX2492EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2492

Hello,

We recently bought the LMX2492EVM and we have some difficulties to make the following modulation in TICS Pro software :

We are looking for this pattern :
1) ramp0 between FO and FO+100 MHz
2) an ajustable off-time
3) ramp1 with fix frequency
4) a second ajustable off-time
Etc.

How can we make this pattern ?
Should we use burst mode and how?

How can we get back the two triggers of our illustration ?

Thank you.

  • Romain,

Thank you for your interest in the LMX2492.  I would try something like this:

    1. Make RAMP0 from f0 to fo+100, have it stop with trigger A.  Use RAMP0_RST so it always starts at f0

2.Make RAMP1_RST=1 to reset back to f0.  Then make it 1 us to ramp quickly to f1.  Use the timeout counter.

    3. Make RAMP2 slope equal to zero  and then go back to RAMP0

You will notice that this does not have the off time.  As the LMX2492 uses an external VCO,so this needs an external control or switch.  You can use a trigger, or even have the LMX2492 give a flag to one of the pins to control the VCO to turn on or off.  When the VCO is off, I would say to make the LMX2492 frequecy just be at F1.

    Regards,

    Dean
