LMX2592EVM: Output power drop issue

Part Number: LMX2592EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2592

Hello all,

A customer ask,

" I am working on the LMX2592EVM and the output power from the evaluation board drops over time,

e.g. at startup with frequency set to 6342MHz and power = 63 (in TICS software) the RF power out = 3.8dBm, after four hours of continuous operation this dropped to -4.2dBm. Is this a known problem for this device? Is there any way to fix this? "

Can anyone help me with this?

Thank you in advance.

  • Dear Kaustubh,

Thank you for the question. LMX2592 does NOT have such a problem. I am guessing you have a defective PCB which will create this problem with temperature. Cabling may also be a problem; try other cable. You may try the other output for evaluation purposes however ultimetly I recommend: (1) see if reflow of some solder fix the issue (2) order a new EVM.

    Regards, Simon.
