CDCE62002 Clock: Use sinewave as REFCLK?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CDCE62002, CDCM7005, CDCE62005

Hi,

I am planning to use the CDCE62002 Clock Generator. Now I am wondering if CDCE62002 can use a sinewave as refclk input.

Are there any documents about this topic?

Thanks.

Regards,

Yang

  • Hi Yang,

See if this helps you. CDCM7005 is similar device as CDCE62002

  • Hello Yang,

that should be absolutely no problem. Just make sure you meet the minimum input swing requirements as defined in the data sheet page 8-9.

  • Sid,

the CDCM7005 is an excellent performing clock jitter cleaner but it requires an external VCXO, which adds cost to the system. For systems that only need to generate a clean reference clock from a crystal or systems that need a jitter cleaner but can tolerate jitter in the order of 1ps rms the CDCE62002 and the CDCE62005 are excellent devices to minimize the overal system cost.
