LMX2594EVM: HOW TO DEMO THE SYNC FUNCTION??

Part Number: LMX2594EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMX2594,

hello.

We are using the LMX2594EVM and we are trying to qualify the use of the SYNC pin.  Originally, we seen the SYNC function demonstrated at the IMS tradeshow in Hawaii.  This was using 2 LMX2594 and monitoring the phase relationship between the output of each of these devices.  After one of these outputs was shifted using the MASH_SEED, the SYNC function was asserted to realign these outputs.  However the Oscope of this demonstration did not include the Reference source (OSCIn).  We were unable to see the edge of both outputs realign with the rising edge of the Reference (OSCIn).

Anyhow we are trying to qualify SECTION 7.3.10.1 where it states "The SYNC pin allows one to synchronize the LMX2594 such that the delay from the rising edge of the OSCin signal to the output signal is deterministic."

In our setup we are using a 10MHz oscillator and setting the RFoutput to 10MHz.  We would have expected that the RF output and OSCIn would align themselves once we asserted the sync pin using the TICS Pro.  However nothing happened.  We never see the rising edge of the rf outputs shift in relation to the OSCin pin.

I would like to submit the settings, pictures of the TICS Pro oscope display but your system is not letting me to.

Anyhow is there something that we need to do to see that the assertion of the SYNC pin would have an effect to your LMX2594EVM?  I have monitored this pin and I see that its active but I just dont see any affect on the RF Ouput pins of the LMX2594.  Are we missing some info??

Please assist.
