My customer is seeing the following issue with the LMX2595 Platinum Software:

I am currently trying to simulate the LMX2595 PLL w/ integrated VCO in TIs PLLatinum SW. I have run the simulation to optimize phase noise and everything looks fine. When I move to the Lock Time Tab, the Frequency Start and Stop values are both 15 GHz. My settings on the PLL are such that the VCO outputs 8.75GHz and then the output doubler is enabled to get 17.5GHz. My concern is that the simulation has optimized for phase noise but is perhaps unstable due to what is being shown in the Lock Time tab??? It appears that I can't change the Freq values (they always change back to 15GHz when I try).

Is this normal? Can this variable be changed? Please let me know if this is an issue with the software.

No, there is no stability issue. The problem is taht when you go to the lock time tab, there is a bug in the code that puts the wrong frequency and does not account fo the frequency doubler. I have fixed this bug and it will go out with the next release. As we just did a release, this will likely we at the end of September.

To work around this, what I would do is just disable the doubler (it does not impact the lock time) and type the VCO frequency range you want to switch.
