LMX2594: synchronise multiple parts

Part Number: LMX2594

I would like to know if this part is suitable for use in an application where multiple parts running at different frequencies ( 1800, 1830,1860, 1890 MHz ) can be synchronised so that their phase relationship will be constant relative to each other over temperature..?

  • Ian,

The phase relationship between power up and programming cycles will be consistent with the phase sync feature.

This being said, there is a nonzero delay through this device and it does vary over process and temperature.  I  have seen about 60 ps of variation over process and the delay changes on the order of 2.5ps per degree celcius.  The MASH_SEED can be used to tune out this variation over process, but there could be a phase difference if the devices were to have temperatures shift in different directions.

These numbers could change based on configuration, but hopefully give you a ballpark idea.

    Regards,
    Dean
