180 ps step function

Please provide a timing diagram of what the requirements are. 

Where does the trigger for the 'step' come from? 

What voltage levels are at the trigger source and please give a definitive voltage for the output.  Or if it is not a triggered function, is it free running? 

Once the STEP has occurred, how long until it returns to '0'? 

What's the duty cycle? 

Does the step have to be exactly 180ps, or can it be in a range of, let's say, 100ps - 180ps?

I don't have a timing diagram. The step would need to reach .6 or 1 volt in 180ps . The trigger is a microprocessor gpio running with 5 volts supply. This is for a time domain transmission line timer. I would probably put the step into a fast comparitor that would start a nanosecond  counter. The step does not return to zero until the test is over with. 180 ps is the max time of the step so anything faster would of course be good.
